Surasi Milirary Camp Floating Market Location : Surasi Military Camp, Kanchanaburi province Tel : (+66) 034 510 428 Opening days : daily Opening hours : 09.00 am – 06.00 pm.   Surasi Military Camp Floating Market originally was a place for shooting the film ‘The Legend of King Naresuan’ of Prommitr Film Studio which was closed in 2014.  Then, the Infantry Division 9 renovated as an ancient floating market where there are restaurants, traditional Thai desserts, souvenirs and products from Royal Projects.  There is a studio for visitors to take photos in retro clothes.  In the floating market area, there are some places used in shooting films, so visitors can enjoy taking photos with the scenes of big white city gate, Thai traditional houses, ancient shops, cannons, chapel, boat and other film instruments.  Visitors can watch cultural performances here.  For more information, go to the website   Other attractions in Kanchanaburi Death Railway : the railway was constructed by thousands of Allied Prisoners under the imperial Japanese army’s order.  Visitors can see beautiful view of the both sides of the railway including Krasae Cave.   The Bridge on the River Kwai : one of important places during World War II   Art Gallery and World War II Museum : it is located near the Bridge on the River Kwai which exhibits historical stuff during World War II.   Don-Rak War Cemetery : it is a cemetery of the prisoners during WW II who lost their lives during the construction of the Death Railway.  Chong-Kai War Cemetery : it is located on the bank of the Kwai Noi River.   Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park (Stone Park) : there are a pile of stones and various kinds of wild flowers.   The Nine-Army Battle Historical Park : it is a place collecting historical evidence during the Nine-Army Battle in the reign of King Rama I.   Salak Phra Wildlife Sanctuary : it is the first wildlife sanctuary in Thailand and the origin of the Kwai Yai River.  There are 3 natural trails  and visitors can walk and see views around Srinagarindra Dam.   Kanchanaburi Archeological site : the remains of the city wall with 4 fortresses   Wat Pa Lei Lai : the temple is located in the area of the historical site containing viharn, pagoda, and temple roof or Mondop.   Wat Khun Phaen : the temple with a big main pagoda   Wat Tham Khao Poon : inside the temple is a big Buddha image.  On the top of the mountain is a big fat Buddha.   The Infantry Division 9 – Surasi Military Camp : there are many extreme activities to challenge yourselves such as rock climbing, shooting, tower jumping, paintball shooting, and mountain biking.   Giant Rain Tree : the over 100-year rain tree is measured 51.75 meters in diameter which means it crowns over an area of 2,416 square meters.
